40th National Square Dance Convention®
Education Fund
The 40th National Square Dance Convention
was held in Salt Lake City, Utah on June 27, 28 & 29, 1991 under General
Chairmen Glenn & Lois Baldwin. Once the convention was over and all bills
had been paid, the remaining funds were placed in an I.R.S. 501(c)3 account
for future seed money for another convention and for continued square dance
education programs within the State of Utah.
I.R.S. 501(c)3 is a tax exempt status for education purposes within a
recognized organization.
A binding agreement was
legally drawn up and signed by Glenn Baldwin of 40th National and Glade Fawson
of ASDCU in 1998 that an annual distribution is to be made to ASDCU, "to
educate the public, and to foster and promote square and round dancing in the
State of Utah." All member clubs of ASDCU can apply through ASDCU.
